MH370 mystery remains unresolved!

A Malaysian airline flight MH370 departs at 12:40 am Malaysian standard time (MST) in the midnight on Saturday from Kula Lumpur international airport to Beijing carrying 138 passengers and 12 crew members.The path between Kula Lumpur and Beijing is almost 4 and a half thousand mile and around a 6 hour trip for being 777 to reach its destination. after routine takes off passing igari pathway right after one hour of flying the flight MH370 disappears from the radar system somewhere in south china sea.

The next morning the Malaysian airline authorities release the statement
“we are deeply sadden with the news MH370”.
The Malaysian rescue team hunts for the MH370 along with china, Australia and USA. the search goes for 40 days with no clue of flight  MH370.

What happened to MH370?

MH370 departs on the 8th of march 2014 from Kula Lumpur international airport at 00:40 (MST) to Beijing. At 00:42 hours air traffic controller instructs the MH370 to climb 18000 feet and head to igari pathway.
After the igari pathway the flight crew members are instructed by ATC to switch the frequency to Vietnam oh chi Minh city and proceed.
The flight MH370 passes the igari points with the captain saying its last and final words “Good night Malaysia 370”
With the last words from captain to ATC the MH370 diverts left of its planned route.

One and half hours later, after the igari point there were no words from flight MH370.Both countries ground communicators tries desperately to communicate with Mh370 but there is no response from the flight.
Mh370 flies for 7 hours and the last time it was seen on the south Indian ocean on a radar system.

Important systems which were switched off or malfunctioned in flight MH370:

Transponder or tcas:

Transmits the messages from aircraft to ground, which are the speed, altitude, destination and fuel.

ACARS (aircraft communication addressing system):

Transmits the information about pressure, temperature within the engine and also the oil level of aircraft. ACARS are designed to transmit the health status of aircraft to the ground and it should be never switched off in flight.

It has been 3 years since the crash the investigator could still not known the real cause of the crash.

What is the black box of an Airplane ?

 

Black box in the aircraft records all of the data in the aircraft cockpit and ground and it helps the investigator to reveal the reason that why and how the aircraft crashed. Black box infact by color is red. The black infarct the aircraft consist of two parts, cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder they both can weight almost from 15 to 25 kilogram.

The cockpit voice recorder records all of the voices and communication between pilot and crew members and also the communication between the pilot and air-traffic controller and its also records the RPM of the engine the airplane speed in the air.
Flight data recorder records the speed, altitude, fuel and the roll of the aircraft.
Since 1960 all of the commercial aircraft are required to equip the airplane with the flight data recorder in order to know the real reason of the crash.

How the black box is found:

 The transmitter is fitted in the black box in order to find its location through the signal it transmit. The black box transmits the signal for 30 days from the site of plane crash location. The rescue team reaches the site through following the signals which is being transmitted from the black box.

Black box characteristics:

Black box can withstand 1800 degree Fahrenheit and 3400 g force. The black box does not open the management has to cut it into two pieces in order to take out the little tiny chip.The chip works for the black box like a memory card in mobile phone .And note one thing that all of the black box in the aircraft are not the same.

History of a black box:

 

David Warner in 1953 aviation investigator in Melbourne was facing a really hard task to find out that why a commercial passenger aircraft heading to Australia crashed living from Pakistan. Killing the entire passenger on-board and the one investigator among others was a David Warner, whose father was lost in a plane crash when he was just a young boy he was really interested in electronics machines he ended up working in the Melbourne aeronautics research lab.
The lost of wreckage and survivors also made the task of the investigator difficult to know the cause of crash so it compelled the David Warner to make a flight recorder the journalist named the flight recorder as a black box as it was full of black data.
David Warner was awarded with the award of Australia.

The first investigation of the plane crash using the Black Box:

When two aircraft, Boeing 747 collided each other on runway killing 193 people and it was the time for the black box to show its miracle and it did that after knowing and hearing to the cockpit voice recorder And the black box revealed that there was a confusion between the pilot and air traffic controller which was the cause of accident.

2001 plane accident:

In 2001 in November right after 911 the American airline flight 587 carrying 260 passengers falls from the sky to the ground.The people of America were again scared of a second terrorist attack, but the investigators were aware that it was not a terrorist attack but the pilot error after finding the black box it revealed that
” The plane experienced the wake turbulence and the pilot lost control when the Co pilot who was in control of the flight was doing with the rudder paddle in response to the turbulence”

The black box was a huge success for aviation and innovation in the technology of 20th century the black box helped to increase the safety in aviation industry.

Most of the people do not know about aviation especially in Asian countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh the people of these states have no knowledge about aviation. Aviation is most important sector in the economy of any state.
The incident of PIA ATR aircraft killing the entire passenger on board along with crew members increased the grief of victim families and also the tension aroused in local public about the low safety level of Pakistan international airline which may cause the local people to avoid PIA for any business or leisure travel.
The ATR incident brought so many controversies for the local public and the media to criticize the airline safety management and the untrained staff of aircraft for showing low commitment to the organization. everyone is agree and willing to criticized the airline but one should have kept in mind that before criticizing the airline or someone you should have a complete and accurate knowledge about that particular topic to depend your points and make it clear for the people to understand the reason of your criticism. I still remember the scenario of Media who were step ahead in criticizing the airline most of the anchor even did not knew that what aviation is but they were ready to criticize the airline.

If we talk about the staff management I just saw an headline on TV that the PIA chief says
“that one engine was not working and we hoped that it will reach to its destination as it has reached before using only one engine”
I just do not trust on such rumors’ as it is impossible for a professional person to say such a comments on such a critical time because can be responsible for the loss of valuable lives. everything I want to say that the media personnel may have heard wrong instead of “one engine left working during flight” the reporter may have heard “the one engine was not working during flight” so there is a huge difference in both comments and the reporter may have not thought it important and before confirming he would have just reported to the studio.
